EXPERIMENTATION CENTER
The Experimentation Centre is part of an immense and active production structure. The theatre must make use of it in as many ways as possible, such as for building sets, lighting them and creating wardrobes. Above all, the Centre's essential productive capacity must be exploited by creating original plays.
The Experimentation Centre is an ideal way for the Colón to contribute to the development of a circuit of assignments and performances that allows composers to work, allows the audience to be constantly exposed to new plays, and allows instrumentalists and singers to face the considerable challenge that is performing a new play for the first time.
THEATRICAL WIG AND MAKE-UP ARTISTRY
This two-year program forms wig and make-up artists for the visual creation of different theatrical characters. Students are trained in the use of fundamental elements (wigs, hairpieces, prosthetics) generally applied on performers.
The program provides frequent internship opportunities for selected students to work in productions staged at the Teatro Colón and the Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón.
DANCE (WOMEN)
The dance school aims to form young artists fit to integrate the Teatro Colón’s Ballet Company. The dance school offers an eight-year program, encompassing structured dance courses and academic courses, as well as an additional year-long perfectioning dance program.
In addition to their practical and academic training, students are given regular occasions to perform on the Teatro Colón’s main stage and beyond; students also enjoy opportunities to work for the Teatro Colon’s Ballet Company, participating in the ballet productions of the season.
